ALL - Coal Mines Currently in Operation

This map shows the locations of coal mines that were active in 2005 (US) and 2006 (Canada). Large coal fields that are not currently being mined also exist in northern Alaska, surrounding Whitehorse in the Yukon Territory, and in northcentral Montana.
